Private Pilot Certification

your first step in aviation

Traveling in a light airplane gives you the freedom of an expanded horizon. Weekend trips or business trips, a whole new way of traveling will open to you and it is filled with amazing views, direct travel, faster arrival, and your own schedule. Getting your Private Pilot license is a lot of work, and it’s worth it. At Alpine Aviation we have created a structured syllabus with reading homework and a workbook, ground school, and flight time. Just as your time is valuable, so is ours and we expect you to arrive at your lessons prepared with homework done, ready to learn,  and eager to fly. Whether you are doing it for fun, practicality, or a career, it is a challenge you won’t regret meeting.

Instrument Rating

Instrument Rating

flying in the clouds

The Instrument Rating is usually the next step in training. It teaches you to fly in clouds, and also refines your skills regarding procedures, accuracy, and regulations. With emphasis on Aeronautical Decision Making, safety is a top priority in IFR flights. California is a vast state, much of which is coastline and therefore foggy most of the year. Many of our clients need an IFR rating, and we want to make sure they achieve it with the capacity to know their own capabilities and limitations as well as those of the aircraft, and also with the confidence of a thorough and polished skill set.

Commercial Certification

build a career in aviation

The career-oriented pilot will need a Commercial License to be paid for their services. There are various options for this depending on if you have your own airplane or if you are getting hired as a pilot through a charter company, for example, or intend to get your ATP or CFI. Regardless, you will learn precision flying and start to master your craft. This will take your understanding of airplane performance and aerodynamics to the next level as you practice chandelles, lazy-8s, and power-off 180 precision landings, among many other fun maneuvers that enhance your ability to be an accurate pilot.

Certified Flight Instructor

share the joy of aviation

Creating top-notch instructors is something we take seriously. We believe in sharing the sky with students and pilots with the best safety and piloting skills, aeronautical decision-making, and knowledge available, and the people who impart those are the flight instructors. We look forward to helping you create top-notch pilots through our CFI course.

Seaplane

Seaplane Rating

land on the water

Once you have accomplished your private pilot single-engine-land (SEL) license, you might be ready for a rating that is not only fun, but that you can achieve relatively fast. The single-engine-sea (SES) rating will give you time in a complex airplane, and open up a whole new world of destination possibilities. During your seaplane training you will learn to read the environment for wind speed and direction information, verify the suitability of a landing area, practice various techniques to landing on water depending on the conditions, learn to handle an airplane on the water in taxi, and how to secure the airplane at a beach, ramp, dock or mooring buoy. You’ll also acquire better judgment as the choice of the runway, traffic pattern, and parking spot are yours alone.

Commercial Certification

build a career in aviation

A commercial pilot is paid for their services, these services can include, local scenic flights, ferry flights, crop dusting, banner towing, aerial photography, fire fighting and can get your flight instructor rating.  Some say the commercial rating is a glorified private pilot because many of the maneuvers are the same.  You want to become the master of the plane and be smooth and skillful in what you do.
